Finance New Orleans Celebrates Groundbreaking of Grove Place II in Hollygrove

On Tuesday, April 22, Finance New Orleans joined New Orleans Restoration Properties, city leaders, and community members to celebrate the groundbreaking of Grove Place II, an affordable housing development in the Hollygrove neighborhood.

Grove Place II will feature 36 new affordable rental homes through the rehabilitation of 22 existing units and the construction of 14 new units. Designed for general occupancy households, the project continues the revitalization work started by Grove Place I.

Finance New Orleans played a critical role by providing public investment through its PILOT program to help make this development financially feasible. Grove Place II represents more than new housing; it exemplifies revitalization without displacement, energy-efficient living, and community-first planning.

Grove Place II is designed to meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability, achieving certifications including Enterprise Green Communities, ENERGY STAR, FORTIFIED Multifamily Gold, and compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Historic Rehabilitation.

During the ceremony, Finance New Orleans’ Director of Housing Policy and Programs, Sydney Shivers, shared heartfelt remarks emphasizing the importance of partnerships and resilience in creating opportunities for New Orleanians. Mayor LaToya Cantrell and several stakeholders were also present to celebrate the occasion.
